Taking a cue from some of the outstanding work we produce for our designer clients, Team publications are not only practical and informative, but desirable objects in their own right.

Process is Form

Team’s recent book (printed in 2010) has been produced to encourage readers to analyse and consider more closely the relationship between the process and mechanics of print production and the practice of design and communication. The book is illustrated throughout with combinations of special colours and print techniques, along with photographs of industrial objects liberated from their everyday habitat.

Practical and informative, but beautifully designed and printed, the book provides an excellent platform to show off Team’s printing capabilities and also demonstrates their keenness to get ‘stuck in’ to help designers realise their printed projects, no matter how complicated they may be. The extensive use of special colours (24 colours, plus different foils and finishes throughout) really gives a taste of the comprehensive print and finishing services Team can offer.

The new book also contains a specially commissioned essay by the respected design writer and former Editor-in-Chief of Grafik magazine, Caroline Roberts. In the essay Caroline explores the theme of ‘process’ and what it means to designers with a passion for print – 'One of the things that makes designers what they are is an absolute obsession with detail; an almost fetishistic appreciation of printed matter is simply a natural extension of that.’

What others are saying about Process is Form:
‘…it blew me away. Both the design and the print is exquisite. You would expect nothing less I suppose from the combined efforts of Design Project and Team Impression.’  Eight:48.

The Process of Printing

Team’s first book (printed in 2004), took a designer’s-eye view of the mechanics of print production. It is now out of print and highly collectible. In this book we outlined our philosophy and method and demonstrated examples of print through a series of 24 illustrated plates showing varied techniques. These plates offered a guide to the potential of print, and demonstrated how a creative approach can enhance printed communications.

Print Matters

Our handy little two part Print Matters booklet (printed in 2009) shows printed samples of each grade and a full explanation of how we take our environmental responsibilities seriously.

Print Matters, provides a complete guide to Team’s evvironmental policy and collects together a specially selected range of FSC®/recycled papers used by Team for everyday printing purposes. These stocks offer a high performance solution for almost all printing needs and will be used by Team on most projects unless an alternative branded paper has been specified. Encouraging the use of this range of papers and boards forms part of Team’s wider environmental policy as an FSC® accredited printer.
