The Manchester event will feature a talk by Design Project, the designers of the book, on the thinking behind the project which analyses the relationship between the process and mechanics of print production and the practice of design and communication.Practical and informative, but beautifully designed and printed, the book provides an excellent platform to show off Team’s printing capabilities and also demonstrates their keenness to get ‘stuck in’ to help designers realise their printed projects, no matter how complicated they may be. The extensive use of special colours (24 colours, plus different foils and finishes throughout) really gives a taste of the comprehensive print and finishing services Team can offer.
So if you want to find out more about how a highly complex book of this nature comes together, make sure you don’t miss this one-off opportunity to hear the designers talk specifically about the project.

What others are saying about Process is Form
‘…it blew me away. Both the design and the print is exquisite. You would expect nothing less I suppose from the combined efforts of Design Project and Team Impression.’ Eight:48. -
Let your fingers do the talking…

This catalogue for Haunch Of Venison galleries deserves its pride of place in this month’s showcase for the great combination of excellent printing and foiling on a delectable choice of papers from the GF Smith collection. The choice of the wonderfully smooth Beckett Expression for the dust jacket particularly caught the eye of the paper-obsessed editor of this e-bulletin.With a Colorplan Coltskin embossed cover and Naturalis Smooth Recycled text pages, this provided the perfect canvas for Team to show off their foiling and printing craftsmanship. Spin’s Natasha Day explains why they chose Team for this job; ‘We had to design and print the book pretty quickly and with this in mind we thought we wouldn’t be able to have any special finishes. However, Team managed to turn the job around quickly and we were able to use a gold foil on the dust jacket and cover. We were very pleased with the final result and the images reproduced extremely well on the Naturalis.’
It’s a piece we’d recommend you pick up, close your eyes and quietly drift off on a wave off smoothness and texture (but not for too long, we wouldn’t want you to miss our excellent printing or Spin’s superb design).

Printing for the private party season

It must be the party season judging by the amount of invites Team have been printing lately. Team are specialists in all the processes that make invites the best-dressed
in town and this recent selection features foiling, embossing, duplexing and gilt-edging.The Brand Experience Company produced a ‘keepsake invitation piece’ for Bentley customers at an exclusive driving event at Abu Dhabi’s esteemed Yas Island.
Christie’s in-house design studio were also delighted with what Team brought to the party; ‘Team managed to do an exceptional job on the foiling, emphasising the high precision at the heart of the piece.’

Challenge of the Fedrigoni jigsaw
We challenged the lovely people in the sales office at Team to have a go at setting a world-record
in putting together the fiendishly frustrating Fedrigoni promotional jigsaw. Big mistake.Estimates piled up un-estimated, important sales call went unanswered. Chaos. Word on the street was that one of the Fedrigoni people had completed it in around twenty minutes. Sorry, but we’re just not having that. Who’ve they got working there? Albert Einstein? Our very own Fraser Talbot (a bright lad and no mistake) took the prize
with a splendid 35 mins, 45 secs. **STOP PRESS** NEW RECORD – GLEN PEARSON 34 mins, 14 secs. It’s worthwhile completing to see how London based illustrator, Sarah King, has used names of the Fedrigoni range to make up a rather intriguing piece of psychedelia. Fittingly, Woodstock is one of the grades and this should put you in the mood for the festival season. Man.
