• BCN/MCR Event Print

Team were delighted to sponsor BCN/MCR for the second year. The event, organised by Dave Sedgewick, saw creatives from Barcelona visit Manchester to exhibit their work and discuss their philosophies of design. The posters that Team printed for the event can still be purchased here.

  • British Fashion Council books: Music

Team continues it’s long standing relationship with leading Manchester design agency Music and British Fashion Council by producing two new projects – the guide book for London Fashion Week (Autumn / Winter) and the book, London Collections: Men 2013.

The London Fashion Week guide book features cover illustrations by designer Manolo Blahnik on Colorplan Pristine White with a ‘pebble’ embossing. This 148 page perfect bound book was printed four colour process with black foil blocking on the cover. This is the 3rd consecutive year Team has produced the literature for this event.

The London Collections: Men book showcases Team’s full in-house services. 72 pages of text, quarter bound in red cloth, with front and back covers made from 3000 micron greyboard. The front cover is clear foil blocked and incorporates a recessed area containing a hand inserted custom pin badge. All the text pages were angle cut (replicating a key element of the event identity) to create a housing for the back of the badge.

The book also features a custom pocket on the inside back cover to contain additional literature, also produced by Team for the event.

  • Fedrigoni Constellation box and samples pack: SEA

Produced in conjunction with SEA and Fedrigoni, this project launched the Constellation range of paper and board to UK specifiers. Consisting of 1,000 complete sets, the packs contains individual leaves showing every sheet in the range, collated and secured by belly bands, sorted by kind then housed in a custom made box with outer sleeve.

Constellation is a high quality textured material available in three different shades – Snow, Jade and Ivory. The project utilised a number of Team’s in-house services, including two colour flood print, clear, white and black foil blocking, plus custom production and assembly of the outer box.

  • London Fashion Week brochure

The dedicated followers of fashion in the Team finishing department donned their most fetching overalls to provide a solution to combine this two-part brochure and guide to London Fashion Week, designed by Music. A black elastic lanyard holds the completed item together. We like that look…

Designers talk about Process is Form at Manchester event
The Manchester event will feature a talk by Design Project, the designers of the book, on the thinking behind the project which analyses the relationship between the process and mechanics of print production and the practice of design and communication.

Practical and informative, but beautifully designed and printed, the book provides an excellent platform to show off Team’s printing capabilities and also demonstrates their keenness to get ‘stuck in’ to help designers realise their printed projects, no matter how complicated they may be. The extensive use of special colours (24 colours, plus different foils and finishes throughout) really gives a taste of the comprehensive print and finishing services Team can offer.

So if you want to find out more about how a highly complex book of this nature comes together, make sure you don’t miss this one-off opportunity to hear the designers talk specifically about the project.

  • Team to sponsor Manchester showing of ‘Typeface’ film.

The next Independent Northern Creative event, sponsored by Team, will be a screening of the internationally acclaimed film Typeface. Directed by Justine Nagan, the film is a fascinating documentary in progress about the Hamilton Woodtype Museum in Two Rivers, Wisconsin.

Following the museum’s attempt to preserve the art of letterpress printing, the film gives an intriguing glimpse of life in this small mid-western town and demonstrates how the museum’s role in preserving and promoting traditional craft techniques have had a significant impact on helping to shape the future of contemporary design.

Find out more information on the film here.

The film will be shown at Shillington College,
1 Portland Street, Manchester – May 14th  6.30pm. Tickets are strictly limited for this event and cost £10 (free to members of INC).

    Book through the INC website.

  • Team support INC (Independent Northern Creative).

Team are proud to be supporting the newly formed non-profit organisation INC by printing a series of limited edition posters to promote their events. INC aims to provide a forum and platform for creatives in the North of England by organising a series of graphic design events in the region.

INC’s inaugural event was a tremendous evening with SEA’s Bryan Edmondson talking to a packed house in Manchester about his ‘Inspirations and Influences’. Limited edition posters are available to purchase from the INC website.
