• Team take top prize in Robert Horne Shout Awards.

Awarding Team the prize of overall winning piece of work for the production
of MadeThought’s Adidas Spring/Summer 2009 product brochure, the Shout judging panel commented, ‘Powerful design coupled with flawless production…’

Team also won a highly commended prize in the annual/interim reports category for Roberto Beretta’s Changing Lives brochure. The judging panel commented on the work saying, ‘Lovely combination of format, colours, typographic style and photography done with a great deal of craft and skill.’

Yet another excellence award for Team, reinforcing their reputation as first choice amongst designers. If you would like to enter your work in to the next Shout Awards (deadline, 28th May 2010) click here for more information.

  • Team produce digitally printed book for Blast.

Printed on a variety of Arjowiggins digital stocks, the book entitled Inspired by Design features work from ten leading practitioners in the visual arts, including John Ross, Bruno Maag, Jeremy Tankard and Vince Frost.

As part of the same campaign for Arjowiggins, Blast also produced a new swatch for their digital range of papers. The print brief presented interesting challenges for Team’s Indigo operators and finishing department. Giff, Blast’s Design Director, was impressed with Team’s response. ‘Paper swatches can be tricky briefs at the best of times, with their particular layout and binding issues. We knew our idea to spread a full-colour image over a wide variety of uncoated and coated digital stocks would require some serious attention to detail at the print stage.’ This is where Team’s comprehensive in-house facilities and experienced operators came to the fore. ‘We were very pleased with the result,’ Giff commented. ‘Not only with the quality
of print and finishing, but also with the way Team responded, offering invaluable advice at every stage right up to the binding.’

Inspired by Design has been shortlisted for the Design Week Awards 2010.

  • Team print limited edition poster for Counter-Print.

Team think this is one of the coolest websites around and were delighted to be asked to print their new promotional poster.

This limited edition poster is a collaboration between the German illustrator Robert Hanson and New Creative. Printed by Team in black and silver, at A1 on white Chromolux.

Be careful before you visit the site, or you’ll find yourself wasting half a day looking through the list of wonderful, and often rare art and design books, journals and ephemera. Hmmm… my Herb Lubalin book is worth how much now? See website.

  • Team support INC (Independent Northern Creative).

Team are proud to be supporting the newly formed non-profit organisation INC by printing a series of limited edition posters to promote their events. INC aims to provide a forum and platform for creatives in the North of England by organising a series of graphic design events in the region.

INC’s inaugural event was a tremendous evening with SEA’s Bryan Edmondson talking to a packed house in Manchester about his ‘Inspirations and Influences’. Limited edition posters are available to purchase from the INC website.

  • Team begin second year of printing Grafik magazine.

‘Working with Team has made me reconsider the age-old preconception about all printers being as bad as each other – the people at Team have a refreshingly can-do attitude, and what’s more they like a challenge. Our readers have a keen eye for print quality, and Team has never let us down in that department. And the ability to make full use of its many and varied in-house finishing services over the last year and a half has transformed Grafik from a good looking magazine into a beautiful one.’ Caroline Roberts, Publisher and Editor-in-Chief, Grafik magazine.

Team’s involvement with Grafik over the past twelve months has seen the magazine set new standards in quality of finishing and bold use of spot colours, foils and varnishes. The images show the evolution of the magazine in that period. Back copies available via the Grafik website.
